Sarah, owner
Dogs of Pipers was born from my lifelong love of dogs and a belief that day care should feel safe, enriching, and genuinely nurturing - not chaotic or overwhelming.
Founded in 2021, my business began with a simple idea: to create a place where dogs are truly understood as individuals. A place that mirrors the care, structure, and reassurance of a children’s creche — but for dogs. That belief still guides everything we do today.
From the very beginning, we have led the way in dog day care in our area. We became the first commercial dog day care licensed by Maldon District Council and awarded five-star status. We also created the first and largest purpose-built, all-weather facility. Most importantly, we introduced a calm, structured model that balances socialisation, enrichment, rest, and play — allowing dogs to thrive rather than simply cope.
My own journey with dogs started in my teens, with Spaniels, and continued through four rewarding years as a Puppy Raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Raising and preparing Labradors and Golden Retrievers for their future roles taught me patience, consistency, and the importance of truly understanding canine behaviour.
For the past eight years, my constant companion has been a beautiful Stabyhoun called Piper. She inspired me to create a day care that reflects what I would want for my own dog: thoughtful care, emotional safety, and respect for who they are.
Today, Dogs of Pipers is more than a dog day care. It is a trusted, high-end environment supported by a stable, loving, and experienced team who care deeply about every dog in our charge. We understand how precious your dogs are — because we feel the same way about our own.
As owner and creator, I am actively involved in the business, welcoming clients and dogs daily, supporting and encouraging my team to be the best at what we do. Canine behaviour continues to fascinate me, and I am committed to ongoing learning so every dog at Pipers is in the best of company.
